On October 24th, 2023, a cybersecurity company named Salt Security found a loophole in more than 1000 websites including Grammarly’s security system that could be used to gain access to millions of user’s data. The Salt Security’s researchers coined this attack as a Pass-the-token attack which crippled the token verification step during the login process. Later on, Grammarly responded that they had fixed the Pass-the-token attack issue and there was no need to worry about it.
