As I said earlier, after trying different methods, I have finally figured out the right way to track VoIP Calls. And the best way to track your kid’s/wife’s/husband’s VoIP calls remotely without them knowing is by using a spy app.
Yes, believe me, tracking VoIP calls without a spy software is very difficult and you will eventually have to use one. The sooner you realize this the more time you will save. A spy app will not only help you in tracking VoIP calls made by different instant messaging apps but will also help you in recording those calls. And there is no other method that will help you in doing both together.
So now that you know about the best method to record someone’s VoIP calls, the next big question that needs to be answered is: Which is the best spy app to track VoIP calls?
To answer this question I have tried and tested different spy apps available in the market as well. And I have found two of the best spy apps that did this task flawlessly. These spy apps are TheOneSpy and FlexiSPY. So let us look at these two options one by one in detail and you can choose any one of these two, you will not regret. Needless to say, they offer much more than just spying on someone’s VoIP calls without root. Apart from VoIP calls, you can also spy on phone call recordings with both apps.
1. How To Track Internet VoIP Calls?
Let us first look at how you can track your girlfriend’s/boyfriend’s VoIP calls through the TheOneSpy spy app.
You will first have to purchase a plan of TheOneSpy from their official website and then you will have to install this app on the target device. To install it, you will need physical access to the target phone first and then you will have to follow the steps that are shown on the screen.
Once the installation is completed, you will be able to see the VoIP call logs as well as the recordings in your TheOneSpy account.
To access the call logs of different instant messaging apps, you will first have to log in to your TheOneSpy account. After logging in, look for the VoIP Call Recording option on the left menu strip and click on it. You will be then able to see the VoIP calls as well as recordings.
TheOneSpy shows you the following information regarding the VoIP calls:
- The app on which the call was made
- Type of call – Incoming or Outgoing
- Name of the contact
- Number of the contact in case the number is not saved on the target phone
- Duration of the VoIP call
- Size of the audio file

When I was testing TheOneSpy’s VoIP Call Recording feature, it was very quick in syncing the VoIP calls that I made using different instant messaging apps. It synced the calls within a minute of disconnecting. I made calls on different apps like Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Skype, and WhatsApp. And it was able to track and record WhatsApp calls as well as Facebook Messenger calls but it was not able to track and record calls of Instagram and Skype.
TheOneSpy was able to track all the short audio and video calls that I deleted immediately after disconnecting. But it was not able to track the long audio and video calls that were deleted immediately after completion. The audio quality of the call recordings however was good and I could hear clearly what was recorded. Although, TheOneSpy was only able to record the audio of the target phone and the audio of the person on the other side was not recorded.
The thing that I liked about TheOneSpy is that it lets you download the call recordings and it even lets you play the recordings without downloading them. It also does not show all the VoIP calls at once and only shows call made by a certain app. If you want to see calls of any other app then you can choose the app from the drop-down menu available in the top right corner.
You can also delete call logs by selecting them and clicking on the Delete button present below the table. The good thing is that it lets you Check and Uncheck All the call recordings at once.
2. App To Spy On VoIP Calls?
The next option that I have for you is the FlexiSPY app. It can also help you in tracking your kid’s or partner’s VoIP calls online remotely without them knowing and that too without root.
You will first have to purchase the license of the FlexiSPY and then install it on the target phone. Once it is installed on your boyfriend’s/girlfriend’s cell phone then you have to log in to your FlexiSPY account.
After logging in, look for the VoIP Recording menu option under the Data menu option on the left menu strip. Once you click on the VoIP Recording, you will be shown all the calls that are made using different instant messaging apps.
FlexiSPY shows you the following information regarding the VoIP calls:
- App logo denoting the app on which the VoIP call was received or made
- Name of the contact if it saved on the target phone
- Number of the contact if it is not saved on the target phone
- Type of VoIP call – incoming or outgoing
- Duration of the VoIP call
- Date and time of making the VoIP call
I again made various VoIP calls on the different social messaging apps while testing and FlexiSPY was able to track and record all the VoIP calls except calls made on Instagram. The calls that I deleted immediately after completing were also recorded. And needless to say, everything was super quick.
The thing I like about FlexiSPY over TheOneSPY is that it simultaneously records and uploads the long call. So even if I deleted the long calls after completing them, FlexiSPY was able to record the major part of them. Also, FlexiSPY was able to record calls that I made using Skype, which TheOneSpy was not able to do. So if you want to spy on someone’s Skype calls then FlexiSPY is the option for you.
Another good thing about FlexiSPY is that it lets you star particular VoIP call recordings, therefore you can have all the important call recordings in one place. It also lets you download the call recordings.
However, the drawback of FlexiSPY against TheOneSpy is that it does not let you listen to call recordings without downloading them. So if you want to listen to a call recording then you will have to download it first.
Which Option Should You Choose?
Both the apps offer a great number of features other than spying on VoIP calls remotely without the target phone user knowing. But there is a considerable amount of price difference between the two. FlexiSPY offers more when it comes to tracking VoIP calls and works better than TheOneSpy but it also costs more. It lets you spy on VoIP calls of more social messaging apps as compared to TheOneSpy and is also a tad bit quicker.
